How to apply eyeshadow for smokey eye makeup

The look is about depth and softened edges, rather than a sharply drawn outline. Watch the instructor build a cream base on each eye, set it with powder eyeshadow and layer color. A dark shade, work on symmetry and a blended lower lid bring the eye look together.

This smokey eye makeup tutorial also brings in the rest of your face: complexion, brows, lips and finishing touches are part of the same purchase. You can follow the complete sequence without buying another course for the base.

  • Follow the change from cream base to powder shadow.
  • Observe how layering and blending create depth and dimension.
  • Compare the first and second eye as the color develops.
  • See kohl pencil, mascara, lash clusters and lips in the complete look.
  • Explore the sparkling variation in the final lesson.

An online makeup course for teens and beginners

For teens ages 11–17 learning to apply makeup on themselves, and parents choosing a recorded course for practice at home. The level is beginner to intermediate. If you are new to a full makeup routine, begin with the skin and complexion lessons before moving to the eyes.

Svetlana Shekhovtsova demonstrates on a model. You can observe the technique and compare it with your own eye shape, skin tone and products; an identical result is not guaranteed. This is personal beauty education, not a professional certification course. No day makeup or Hollywood course is needed first.

Step-by-step smokey eye makeup tutorial: 29 lessons

Watch the stages in order on your first pass. The full list below lets you check every topic before buying, then find the video you want to repeat. The foundation and brow lessons belong to this course, not a separate prerequisite purchase.

1 · Lessons 1–16

Prep the skin and complete the base

Cleansing, serum, moisturizer and primer lead into foundation and concealer. Cream and powder complexion products follow, before shaping, checking symmetry and setting the brows.

2 · Lessons 17–24

Apply eyeshadow and blend the smoky eyes

Begin with the cream base on both eyes. Follow powder setting, color layering and the dark shade, then continue through symmetry, the lower lid and blended edges. Colored kohl pencil and tightlining complete this stage.

3 · Lessons 25–29

Finish with lashes, lips and sparkle

Watch the mascara and individual lash-cluster demonstrations, then refinement of the cluster line. The lip look and a sparkling smoky eyes variation close the course.

Eyeshadow, brushes and the rest of your makeup kit

Check your makeup bag against the lesson list before shopping. These are demonstrated product categories, not a prescribed brand list. Review what you own and which steps you want to practice; cosmetics and tools are not included in the $15 price.

Skin prep and complexion products

Cleansing products, serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and concealer; cream and powder blush, contour and highlighter; setting powder.

Products for the eye makeup look

Brow products, cream eye base, powder eyeshadows, kohl pencil and a brush selection for application and blending. A palette can hold your shades, but no specific commercial palette is required.

Lashes and lips

Mascara, individual lash clusters and lip products appear in the final stage. Watch those videos before deciding which finishing steps to try yourself.

Practice the smoky eye look step by step

You do not have to match the finished look on your first attempt. Use the demonstrations to notice one change at a time, with a mirror nearby and enough space to pause between stages. These are tips for studying the videos, not a substitute for watching the technique.

Watch the base on the lid

Start with the cream-base videos and compare the first eye with the second. Observe the brush placement on the model’s eyelid before continuing to powder. Follow the instructor’s sequence rather than skipping straight to the deepest color.

Compare depth, shade and blended edges

Pause after color layering, then again at the symmetry lesson. Look at the two eyes in your mirror: does one appear darker, or does an edge look more noticeable? Return to the relevant demonstration instead of adding more products without checking the stage you missed.

Review the finished makeup look

Watch how the instructor brings the eyes, complexion and lips together. The final variation shows another finish to explore. Keep the first goal small: repeat a stage you found difficult before trying to reproduce the complete glam look.

Questions about learning smokey eye makeup

Can I start this tutorial without makeup experience?

Yes. The course is beginner to intermediate and starts with skin preparation. You get the base, complexion and brow lessons in the same purchase, so there is no need to buy another course first. Watch from lesson one if those steps are new to you.

What should I revisit if the eyeshadow looks too harsh?

Look back at Setting and Blending with Powder Eyeshadow and Lower Lid and Blended Edges. Compare the demonstrated edges with your own attempt, and pause rather than rushing through the next step. Rewatch the transition between stages before continuing.

How can I practice symmetry between my two eyes?

Use Cream Base on the Second Eye, Layering Color on the Second Eye, and Symmetry and the Dark Shade as checkpoints. Compare both sides as you watch. This is a way to organize practice, not a guarantee that every eye shape will look exactly the same.

Do I need a particular eyeshadow palette?

No named palette is prescribed by this offer. The syllabus includes a dark shade and a sparkling variation. Review the demonstrations before buying colors or finishes just for this course, and check which products you already own.

How is this different from the smudged eyeliner course?

Here the main technique is layered, blended eye color. Smudged Winged Eyeliner centers on the direction and shape of a pencil line, then softening and setting it. Both are standalone courses with their own preparation lessons; neither purchase requires the other.

What do I get for $15, and where do I watch?

All 29 English video lessons, self-paced with lifetime access in the Oh!Nice SPACE student portal at online.ohnice.space. You can pause and replay them. Hotmart handles payment, not the classroom. Cosmetics, personal coaching and professional certification are not included.
